Is the Pro 1 still available??

I just ordered a Pro1 from Beach Camera for $599! If you want one you better act fast because I don't think that they will be in stock for long.

Well, my Pro1 arrived this week from Beach Camera. Its box was badly torn, but that really didn't concern me. I'm returning it because it has some lint or hair underneath the lens! I've asked for a replacement, but will probably have to settle for a refund because they are out of stock now. :-(

Then send it to Canon and have them clean and calibrate it.

Thanks for advice, but I'm traveling to Europe for a couple of months and Canon probably won't be able to service it quickly enough. Otherwise I'd probably send it to Canon to be cleaned since it has a one year warranty.

I don't have a problem with the evf and the flip screen is a bonus.

The mirror doesn't take the image the sensor does.

To me the viewfinder is just another part of the mechanism that frames the image. I don't get my rocks off admiring the image through the viewfinder and I don't seem to have any trouble framing or focussing with an evf. It is just one of those mystiques surrounding the aura of the dslr.

In time the clacking mirror will die just as surely as film. Not just yet as the world isn't ready, but it will ...

Sounds like a run-out to me

Any guesses when the Pro2 will be released?

(and the S3 IS isn't a replacement, and no, as I already have 10D and 5D I don't want a 350D)
