Hey all,

I've been wanting to try photographing fruits splashing into water, for some time now, well...

We had a party and had borrowed some punch bowls from my girlfriends dad.

Filled them with water, on a chair against a white door, with 2 flourescent light bulps illuminating the space + built-in flash

D70s + 50mm f/1.4

aperture @ f/2.8
ISO 1600 (cleaned up in Neat Image)
Shutter @ ~ 1/400

Version #2 (personal favourite)

Appreciate any input you can give.
Thanks in advance

Kind Regards

Can you explain what you don't like about #3, since you want one
thats between the two?
difficult to be specific about taste of course
but #2 is blurry with low contrast
  1. 3 has much more contrast (and gives the appearance thereby of being sharper, or maybe it is sharper) but i think the contrast is a little overdone, looking somewhat fake and oversaturated
i think id like it best 75% of the way between 2 and 3, being closer to 3

ps

I can imagine this looking so much better at f16 and 125th or higher wit a little higher ISO if need be to get the shuter speed correct. I would be outside in the sun with a white board or what ever behind the bowl. I would even play with my 24-70L @ 24mm very close up for some effect. For my tastes the grapes should all be in focus.

Very creative idea.

Thanks RLjr,

Guess you haven't checked my profile (then again why would you).

Currently live in Finland... not the nicest weather we have right now.
No flash, grapes dropping too fast = blur if shutter

So I did the best I could.
You saw the original right? :)

thanks for suggestions.
I will do another when I have better situation to do so.

Kind Regards
