Exactly 4 days ago our local dealer had visitors from Japan with a new HX prototype camera. I had the opportunity to take the attached sample shots. The camera has an incredible 200x optical zoom and a gyroscopic platform for image stabilization, which freezes the camera in your hand. The test shots were taken handheld even at full 200x zoom with no difficulty. They rightfully call it "Hyper Zoom", but they also used the expression "Sloof Lirpa" technology. I hope the camera will be available in the near future.

I also hope the camera will be available in the near future, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm guessing the Sloof Lirpa technology is in the early stage of development, and only works as designed one day a year. :-)

I gladly confirm that the exiting news are only 3 days old, sorry about my poor calculation. Furthermore I have to add an important detail: Hyper Zoom requires some effort on the side of the photographer, in my case it was a 4 mile bicycle ride.

I apologize for the belated April joke, which probably was not quite fair. I was not able to post on April 1st and couldn't wait another year.

Cheers, Herbert

You can't imagine how good it is.

At 12ix, shake is controlled along the imaginary axis which
allows good shots of the rear of the subject.

Is this a late "April Fool"?

If it weren't for the Sloof Lirpa ,technology I would have suckered for it...

Things have become too serious, so I love your post...We all need to laugh sometimes.
