viewing photos on portable dvd player...

Yes they do, The Pioneer LC10 has a switch where you turn the RCA jack from output to input. You can hook them up to a TV or if you use those Radio Shack TV remote 900mhz signal devices. The DVD player can be used to pickup TV stations via the input with it. This feature will work great for the camera's pictures.

I don't see a problem if it has a video input RCA jack.
 
I'm looking for such a solution : viewing shots throught a portable LCD screen as i find that the LCD on the 707 does not show very well whether the shot is focused or not.

I think such screens are available as you can find them in car entertainment systems. As long as it has a video input, it should work. Best thing, I can bring it along on photo shoots!
