I have searched the Canon website and cannot find any place to download the manual to the latest version of Digital Photo Professional.

Anyone have a clue as to where this is?

It comes in the original CD and you can download a new version of it when you download the new package. comes in PDF form.

The question is why? DPP is completely intuitive is you are computer savvy at all.

I should add that the manual only tells you what the functions do and not when, why and how to apply them. So it is the typical terse manual, for how to use the actual functions budget a couple of hours of "play" time.

It is on the Canon site along with the download for DPP.

Easy steps: Go to Canon site and select your camera > click on support > click on download library > click on drivers/software > select DPP

When the screen comes up - read the whole thing - it will tell you about how to download the manual (its a PDF file). Thats all there is to it!

Mitch,

You hit it right on the head! I wish there was a DPP forum to help get the best out of the picture. I lack the when and how to apply the best settings to pull the most out of the shots. I like RawShooter for speed and interface but I like the colors (to me) much better than anything out there.

When I first got into this, they say leave sharpening as one of the last steps to get the best shots. Do you still do that in this day and age of ONE STOP programs? I don't have the critics eye but would like to learn from the experts as to what they are looking at and there thought process. Certainly lacking in DPP as opposed to the other programs.

Since migrating from DPP 1.6 to DPP 2.0, I am simply letting DPP do the sharpening of 90% of the images. For critical images, I still find greater subtlty and control via USM in photoshop as the final step.

I would not have posted this message if I hadn't looked on the Canon web site and not found it. I went back again and it is not there . The only thing they have relating to DPP is download of the updater. There is no manual.

Canon USA's website is really bad with this kind of stuff. Sometimes one can find stuff on the UK website that should also be on the USA website but isn't. One would think they would be more consistent.
