I opened up a dead microdrive, and took a few shots with a 28-105 and a 6T filter...

nice - the 3rd shot does show it is possible to recover images from a damaged microdrive

Looks great.

I have the 28-105 and it's an awesome lens. I use it alot.

How much more magnification do you get by adding the 6T?

There is some good info here :

This is a "close focusing" lens, so you have to be able to get close to the subject.
