Should I pre-order the new Sony H5 camera?

I was wondering if I should preorder the camera and a new memory stick or should I wait. I am so excited about it, especially with the upcoming birth of my twins in October.

I am also eagerly awaiting the new H5...but I wouldn't order it before the first reviews and sample images have been posted.

Just my opinion.

We have no idea of picture quality yet. Colors may be very different in the H5 than they are in the H1 due to the new color modes. I recommend waiting a bit for sample pictures.

I would, wait, until you see some pictures and comments from this forum...

Pre-production reviews don't offer as much insight. Samples and comments buy actual photographers will be the true test.... Mark my words, those who pre-order and offer there honest insights with the new H2 and H5 will be chastised for making negative comments, and as a result it will take another couple of months to get everyones true opinions.
Don't be one of the firsts, I made this mistake with the R1!!!

Just my opinion.

.... and bought 2 MB Dou PRO. however I didn't open the box yet ;-)
So if sth. is wrong with review of H2 ( in my case ) I'll sell it.

I was hoping that Sony would see your input as significant enough and would request your help with a review of the camera. If you are doing this, then you are probably under an NDA and will not tell us a word... LOL. If anyone gets to "test drive" the camera, please let us know!

Yes, do please. And give it, once you have it, a thorough test so we all will know how good or bad is it, and decide whether to buy it.

Dont think i'm going to regret it.
Ordered together with 2GB memory.

The camera I own since July/2000 is a DSC-S70.
It served well but it can't find autofocus anymore.
