Hi, looking for opinions on this attempt. Been reading for awhile on here and thought I would do some posting.

Thanks, I really admire your work Scott. I did this in PSCS2 using Trimoons CD tut. Would more vibrant color be appropriate with this type of work or shoudl it be more muted?

I think I like the muted color better. I've looked at paintings and such that go both ways. I think I prefer the muted look more. I'm just getting started on this though so I may find some images need more color and some need less.

Very pretty! Congratulations. Trimoons cd's are wonderful aren't they?

The only thing I might suggest would be maybe you are looking for a little more depth? Maybe go over certain parts like the edges of the wings with a paintbrush with a little color for highlights/shadows etc. That will help seperate things a little?

Thanks Carrie and 'just a novice' for the kind words.

Carrrie, I can see your point. I am so new to this type of work, if you get a moment please feel free explain further.

Trimmons CD is great.

This is very nicely done, but is there any way you can tone down the white reflection behind the one wing? It's so bright that it draws my eye away from the girl. Otherwise the rendering is just wonderful. Maria H.

Maria, I agree. I noticed that too. I will probalby work on toning down that sort of thing in future paintings.

I appreciate all the feed back. I was very inspired by this forum to try my hand at this after viewing all the great art work here.

That is super nice. WOW. May I ask how you get that canvas look. I use Photoshop 6 and I don't have that sort of thing as an action or anything. I would love to help you more with critic however, I just simply could not say anything that would add to your work, it is perfect!!

I started with PS7 and now use PSCS2. I use the texturizer filter. I think the canvas is standard.

Thanks for your kind words.

This is a really excellent work. I like the colors and the lighting, and the processing fits the scene perfectly.

I was curious how it would look with a closer crop. I don't think it's an improvement, just a different look. You lose some of the costume but get closer to the face and the interaction with the flowers.

I didn't take the time to recreate the soft border.

Magical image,

Just spotted this - I think it is beautiful - really nice.

Loe the feel to the image.

I also like the crop but I think I do like the space around as well - both nice.

Best wishes

Ray

I like the crop too, but the more I think about the more I think the mom's would miss the wings that get lost in the tighter crop.
