Hi

I am shooting a lot of interiors for a friend who builds kitchens. I use a Pro90 (getting D30 in 3 weeks though :-) ). I use BreezeSys Remote capture, and the supplied USB cable. However, it's a real pain as I have to hold the laptop most of the time. I want to use a long USB cable so I have more freedom to place the laptop on a chair and move the tripod around a bit more freely.

Has anybody tried any USB extension cables? If so, what's the longest you've used?

Thanks

Mark

The above link will take you to a 10ft. extension cable, 31.99 at Belkin. I'm a tech by trade and this cable should be standard USB specification and should therefore work with any USB device.

Hi

I always use a 3meter USN extension cable to connect my G1 to my PC. My USB ports are on the back of my computer and it's just impossible to plug in the cable everytime I wanted to download some photos. It works great, never had any problems with it. It's always connected to my PC, and I connect my G1 to the other end when needed.

One thing: I tried to connect my scanner to the extension cable once, and oddly enough that didn't work! Couldn't figure out why, it just wasn't detected by the computer....

Hope this helps

I've managed 11m using two 5m USB cables, two USB hubs and Canon's USB cable. This only worked on my desktop PC. My laptop could only manage one hub and one 5m USB cable.
