SB-800

Just purchased an SB-800 for my D70. Took some pretty good picture right off the bat but I am a little disappointed in the user manual. It explains a lot of the technical aspects but I need some pointers on actual use and how to use it with the D70. Is there a good website were I might get some tips? Thanks. Dwight

I asked a similar question about the SB600. In 24 hours I got no replies !! That's strange, don't you think ?? I can highly recommend you the D70 book by Thom Hogan ( http://www.bythom.com ).

--Ya know, you can write books about the sb800 and all is different uses and functions.

If you make your request a little more specific, someone may know better how to point you toward a resource or be able to give you a few hits to get you started.

On the D70 forum, do a search. There are volumes of threads on the Sb800 and how to maximize it...

A lot of us that know how to do what you want, do not have time to 'pull up an electronic chair' and chat for the two hours we could by writing what the CLS system will do on the d70..
So narrow your question down a bit.....

I started with these base settings then went from there. It takes a lot of experimentation and even then the results aren't what one expects but at least I am starting to standardize on certain settings when I use the flash.

I don't have either, and I am a new SB-800 who also found the owner's manual a little lacking, but this is the path I am going down. From there, should I have further questions, I am quite sure I can be more specific in the types of things I will be asking...
