I'm looking for a simple but functional screw-mount to k-mount adapter that's well-made, focuses at infinity, and generally has as few quirks and drawbacks as possible (except of course for the obvious stuff about having to stop down). I was going to just go order one from the Pentax online store, but when I tried to they reported that the quantity available was 0, without any further comment or explanation, and searches for the product at most online stores haven't turned up anything official-looking. There are some adapters on eBay, but most of those look sketchy, or are identifiable as the kind that won't focus at infinity. Can anybody suggest trusted brands for good adapters, or retail sources I may not have considered for the official one distributed by Pentax?

I found a used Pentax brand M42-to-K-mount adapter at B&H, but I've heard that their non-branded ones are good as well. At B&H you can get your money back if it doesn't work for you.

The real thing looks like this, mounts flush with the camera body and has a spring that holds it in place.

I'll be posting my first shots with my 30 dollar Hanimex 135mm f2.8 later =D
