Has anyone else had any problems using these three together? XP installed just fine, and Qimage was working ok. Everytime I went to Printer Setup, it would just freeze. I uninstalled the Canon Driver, and the program worked flawlessly. I reinstalled it, and frozen again. If anyone has had this issue, can you please offer a fix. I emailed the guy at Qimage, but I thought to look here first. Thanks.

Same problem here with exact same setup. Haven't tried it yet by uninstalling the Canon driver. Please let me know if Mike comes back to you with anything. Thanks.

Is your problem the same as discussed in this thread?

I was having the same problem with a Kodak 8660, Qimage, and Windows 2000. I worked with Mike Chaney yesterday, testing fixes and I think there will be a fix released shortly.

Just finished changing printers. Made my old HP722C default printer and it works great with Qimage. The new Canon S800 drivers are buggy. Suggest we all start emailing Canon and letting them know.

Wow Billybob, are we the same person? I also have an HP722c hooked up to my system, and I agree the driver works with no problem. How can we alert Canon to this problem? Will they even listen? Would it be better to see if Mike can make some adjustments?

I don't think its Mike's fault. Canon has to come up with something a bit better. I tried going back to my old driver, off the CD, but for the life of me, it keeps saying "driver already installed" and won't let me go any further. Several people have said they have gone back to the old drivers and everything working OK. I'll keep trying. In the meantime I think we should all just send Canon a nice email and see what they say. I also am having trouble with a couple of other programs and the S800.

I am still waiting to see what his reply is. I also emailed Canon and haven't heard anything yet.

The answer is in the thread someone referred you to... the canon driver installs into a system, hidden folder... you must remove the system, then the hidden attribute, then make it system again... here's the link with the commands to type from a command prompt...

I pulled my hair out trying to figure it out... it works flawlessly now that the hidden attibute is removed.

Actually it was so easy...I could not figure out the C: prompt thing, so all I did was find the S800 drivers using the Search features for hidden items. It then showed the BJ Drivers folder under my C:. I then just unhid it. Everything works perfectly now....what an odd fix....see ya.

Eric
Jim...guess I'm getting a little dense in my old age but what
folder do we apply the attributes to on the cmd line? TIA
BillyBob

if you have XP, go to search, all files and folders. Then, click
more advanced options. Check the Hidden Folders options and search
for BJ Printer..
Thanks Eric...got everything working great now. I just didn't dig far enough in the search function. Nice to know you can "unhide" files without going thru the attribute function.

BillyBob

The folder is "BJPrinter" and will be listed in windows explorer near the top of the list under your c drive. To get to the command prompt START, RUN, then type CMD and enter... you will be at a command prompt... when finished changing attributes, type EXIT and it will close. BTW, depending on your operating system, you may have to type COMMAND instead of CMD to the the command prompt.
JimD
How do you search for hidden folders with the search function. I
can't figure it out.

Thanks,
Jim
