FZ30 Noise...

Sad but true. The FZ30 like all small sensor cameras have noise. Since you are on this site surely you would have read all about the noise before you bought.

You want a new camera. Go buy it and don't blame your decision on the noise.

I'm using Helicon Filter too. Like the simple workflow.

Still unsure of best noise setting. Like you, Jimmie, I've found 16 is where I end up on several photos (trying not to trade off much detail), but software floats to different setting (same % of suggested default) as you open new images. I'm wondering if I should let it float (less NR for cleaner images, more for noisier images). Kind of makes sense, doesn't it? Or is there a way to make s/w default to a fixed value like 16 when it opens a new image?
Your thoughts?

it will be set on whatever you set it at and on the right you can click on save as default and the next time you bring up a photo it will still be on that setting.... :o)
