c'mon Marti ;D
Tell us more about the guitar. I see the piezo in the bridge.

I'm not a 6-stringer myself. 4 is more my speed:

gUitar ... and the reflections are distracting.

'I remember when the days were long
And the nights when the living room was on the lawn:
Constant quarrelling, the childish fits,
And our clothes in a pile on the ottoman;
All the slander and doublespeak
Were only foolish attempts to show you did not mean
Anything but the blatant proof
Was your lips touching mine in a photobooth.'-death cab for cutie

I see the point.

It's an example of how a title to a pic can lead the viewer to a hoped-for conclusion.

--I know, art is supposed to speak for itself, but sometimes it dosen't talk enough.

Something needs to change to emphasize your point but I'm not sure how the picture could be modifed. A darker guitar silhouette and less glare in the reflection so the whole has a two-dimensional feeling?

John

well without out any PP its an bit difficult to express myself.....but its worth an try.

the point is clear maybe i should put an door straight into the gitar somehow :-)

As an picture is so personal its not alway's what an other see in it.

:)

If you put a door into the guitar heaven knows how that would be interpreted :)
Would be an interesting picture though.

I do like the idea of making what would be a secondary element or a distraction (the reflection) the primary idea behind the photo. That's a tough one to pull off. But a fun one work on.

John

Yeah I saw that one. Pretty interesting.

Technically I suppose the bright spot in the middle is a problem.

But it's a nice shot. I like the colors. The play of the angles and the light and shadow. The figure appears to be floating. The shadow is balanced against an object (ball?).

John

Hope I didn't sound harsh.

It is an interesting pic. Involving. Can't say that about the 100th or so pic you see of children, dogs etc.

--Oh no, I hope I don't draw fire. I like children and dogs, honest, have them myself and take their pictures too. But abstraction is welcome. It pulls you in. Or it does me anyhow.

John

Oh! and I meant the bright white spot next to the ball that blows out the detail. Not the orange glow, which is actually pretty nice.
--I was never one to stop beating a dead horse.

John

Definately a lot of nice shots there Marti.
You're a busy photographer!

I do like the show picture best and I think the ones witht the gold light work best. Drives you crazy sometimes tinkering with these things.

I like the gitar shots too, or the idea behind them. I'm not sure what's the best way to work that out but it will be fun trying.
And you get to play the guitar too.

Actually, that's two different guitars, isn't it? I hope the red one has tone to match that marvelous color.

John

Thxs John,

well actualy its one and the same gitar did some PP on it thats all

and yes the red tone in the pic is the real colour of it, the Sony is doing an great Job and i'm convinced i will stay with my H1 for an while because i'm sure even more is possible with it.

so no hurry for me to get one of the new ones

maybe my next step will be an SlR but i think i still need to improve my digital skills an bit more to make such decision.

after using analog for abt 25 years its still an different world for me.
