Thanks David, and I too like that one :)

Any comments on the flowers in overcast conditions? And how the R-1 renders that kind of light?

I think it did pretty good especially at ISO 400. (I use neat image to remove any noise, but there wasn't much to speak of).

I would like to know if you take picture in raw mode with your R1. Does the jpeg engine good? (I have a C8080 and I really like the output).

I've been watching your work (quite impressive I must say) and you're probably the best R1 seller on the planet right now... I know, you eye is your best lens and the camera is nothing without the photographer.

Many thanks to you Cgarard.

(would like like to buy a R1 but a bit expensive here in Canada)

Reddust,

Yes absolutely you can take pics in RAW on the R-1, and the jpegs are so good I only shoot in RAW 1/4 of the time.

As far as your comments, im humbled my friend. Thank you very very much. Im glad you like my work, i've been putting the R-1 through it's paces since it's first shipment in late Nov. early Dec. I think the camera can do as much as I need it to do, but it really shines on photo's taken within about 30 yards or so. Especially close ups.

is that the clouds make the whole sky into a big soft box. If a storm was approaching then the sky would get increasingly dark. I find that towards and after sunset the colours become more and more attractive but harder and harder to shoot, so I guess that would apply to an approaching storm too.

You got a good exposure here, with very even light, and the darkening sky maybe helped to pull a little extra colour out of the flower.

Interesting John, and I agree with you. A light box is what you are refering to eh?

Thanks for the comments, I think there are levels of overcast-ness (if I may) that help certain situations for shooting, and the more I get in tune with what the conditions are, the better I know what to shoot and how to shoot it in given those conditions. I see overcast skys I think water and flowers/vegetation of all matter to shoot.

Carl

Thank you I appreciate that.

Any advice you can give to improve? On this particular photo that is? Just curious if you have time!

Carl

I don't think there is anything you would do to improve the pic. It looks really beautiful. You don't need to do anything different. I'm really impressed!
