I've installed Windows XP Professional and for some reason I can't get it to recognize my Kodak DC4800. A couple of times when I pluged it in it will recognize it but then XP locks up. Has anyone else had this happen? Windows 2000 would do this occasionally but usually after unplugging the USB port and plugging it back in it would be ok. Any help would be appreciated!

It sounds to me like you are having a conflict some where. What is the makeup of your system? Do you have a PCI card in the 4th or 5th slot as this shares the same irq as the USB. I have uploaded pictures to XP and never had a problem

I'm using WinXP and it always work fine for me.

Make sure the camera is on first, then plug in your usb port. If you notice the display is rotating on the top of the camera, but WinXP did not detect it yet.
Just unplug the usb port for 1-2 sec, re-plug it in. This always work for me.

Ditto - no probs here with xp pro.
I plug everything in first (USB and power) then turn it on.
