How to do pinup style like this (WARNING - Implied Nude)

Really it comes down to a mask. while on the picture layer select the mask (located at the bottom of your layers pallet, looks like square with circle in it) and then you should get a white layer mask beside your picture in the layers pallet. With a black brush paint the areas that you dont want. As far as the gradient, well that is just a new layer under your picture. Here is a nice site with a tutorial. This place is awesome, they have photoshop contest every day so you might want to check out their home page also. This is where I have learned many new techniques.

Thanks, but I'm more interested in how the image and clothing were done, not the background.

Thanks again!

Looking close it almost appears that the image was a nude with the clothing painted in with PS or some other image processor. Clothing follows the shape too close without and wrinkles. Similar to body painting where the cloths are painted onto the body, but in the case of actual body painting the paint is limited to the body itself. In this case, they extend from it.

Here is something I came up with awhile back...the look can vary depending on the settings you decide to use. On your examples, I think the bodies look illustrated with a photo cloned on as the face.

a variation using the same technique with different settings.

Thanks,

1. Get a nude model

2. Either Mark (doesn't matter background or foreground they work similar) or lasso the clothe, then adjust color (or paint whatever works best for you)

That's! doesn't need more than 2 steps ;)

I would really like to spend more time on it, evening out the gradations in skin luminosity, ie not so patchy looking. But the key is to use noise reduction, minimal skin colors, and artificially smooth or enhanced lighting.

so where is the action for this one :)
