For you folks who want an extended, rubber eyepiece for the FZ30........this fits very well and it's about 1 1/2" long. Like any other eyepiece.....it does interfere with the LCD but it can be easily removed if you need to access the LCD.

It is item # 3034762. (I may have bought the last one but it should be back in stock shortly).......................

It's not going to be deep enough or as all-encompassing as the other one I have... But I might get used to it... I've been using a rubber bellows type for the past 5 years on all my cams... Found an old Pentax cup that I'm getting used to on my 8080 cause the bellows one fell off a lot easier than any of my others...
We shall see!

You would be correct Ross I used one like you have but I got it from Orion and it was very deep and very good but blocked some of my vision so I went to the AE1 eyecup on the FZ20 and its great but gets in the way of the LCD on the FZ30...I had a couple of the 2939 ones laying around so I tried them on the FZ30 and found they were a better fit on the FZ30 and work perfectly.

I hope those are the correct ones, the # should be 2939...if it does not fit be sure to let us know so I can quit recommending them.

Just trying to learn and it's slow going!

I'm left handed and get nose smudges on my FZ20. I got one like Gene suggested but really need it to be a little longer. I like the longer one you guys are talking about but noticed it's round. Will the round ones fit the FZ20?

will conform to a rectangle to some extent as long as the rectangle isn't too small... The more ya have to stretch it around the corners , the tighter it'll be, the better... I'm left-eyed too & even with that eyepiece I still got my noseprints on my Uzi LCD but the nice thing about the Fz30 is it's LCD turns in towards the body & mine has never been exposed to my nose.... I don't know how large of a rectangle the previous Fz eyepieces are so can't actually say how tight the Rubber bellows-like eyeguard will stretch over it....

Steve......

The round unit fits very well......tight enough to be secure but easy enough to remove if you need access to the LCD.

They are the same unit! One is priced about 50% higher (both item & shipping) than the other one.

I'm waiting for my new FZ7 so I can try it on that. If it fits on the FZ7 as well as it does on the FZ30, I may use some rubber cement and make it a permanent part of the FZ7 because there are no issues with the LCD. I like the fact that the eyepiece extends quite a way from the camera body.....no oilily nose smudges on the LCD! : - )

Hi Gene,

You can keep recommending them... Just got mine & while there's no part number #2939 anywhere... All it says on the package is:
For F-601/F-401x (N6006/N5005)

It fits the Fz30 eyepiece perfectly & snuggly & at no time does it get in the way of the LCD swing...

However, it is as I suspected & not deep at all which for my being left-eyed still means nose hitting the back of the cam... Although it should be absolutely perfect for right-eyed indivuduals... I can't imagine there being any issues for normal right eye use...

I got the Nikon eyepiece that you've posted about before for my fz30 yesterday. It fits perfect with no interference to the LCD. I do wish it was just a tad bit deeper. But I think it will suit me just fine. Thanks again for bringing it to my attention.
This is the one that best fits the FZ20...not sure about the
smudges though.
