Nikon D200 v Fuji S3 Pro

or considering blowing the budget as you stated, why not get both a d200 and a S3 Pro. Then youd have the best of both worlds.

Thanks for reply. What I meant buy "great out of the box" was good quality pictures from the camear once tweaked. I am happy to play with camera settings to optimize picture quality. What I do not want to do is spend 6 hours shooting then have to spend 4 hours on a pc trying to make the shots look presentable.

Looking at the recent feedback ar write up's the D200 once tweeked appears to consistantly produce good pictures.

Done it,

Ordered D200, keeping S2 for low light and back up shots.

Used money saved to upgrade to SB 800 flash, bought the 18-200 VR and looking at putting the rest towards the 17 - 55 2.8 in a couple of months.

Between the Fuji and the Nikon, I perfer the nikon hands down.
