Problem with Kodak-camera DC4800

I have this camera for almost a half year. A very nice camera. There is only one problem with it: last month when I put on a lens-adapter the power shuts down. Lucky I still have quaranty on it, but the factory could not repair it. So I send it back to them to see if they can make it this time. Now I ask myself: are there other people in the world with the same problem with this camera? Please let me know. Thanks!

P.s. In the time when the camera was still oke, I made some picture wich you can see on:

I have used the lens adapter but have not experienced your problem. I did have my camera locked up a couple of times and both times I was using an external battery pack. The connection might have come loose. If the battery is defective, the camera will not power up even with the adapter plugged in. Do a search on battery and you will probably find a posting in this forum about the battery is required for the camera to work.

Hello Tony,

I have 3 batteries, with all of them I have this problem. So the camera is really broken. But thanks anyway...

When I first received the Lens Adapter I noticed that if I secured it snugly to the lens barrel of the camera, the camera seemed to work harder extending the lens. It seemed that the motor was going to burn out if I persisted in trying to operate it with the adapter on it so tightly. So, I would never tighten the adapter all the way. Now that I've used it for several months, it works fine. I guess that when the Lens Adapter is new, it's a little tougher than it has to be.
Now I ask myself: are there other people in the world with the same
problem with this camera?

Hi Peter,

Any problem with your camera will not have anything to do with the adapter. The adapter is external and does not have anything to do with the operations of the camera itself. It may just be coincedence, but the adater will not affect your camera operations. Think about it :)

OK...........Maybe, I'll concde that if you have it too tight.......... well, even then, makes no sense.,

On a different note, I have never heard of anyone complaining about this problem before, usually this means that there is something else as the culprit.

Anything else you're doing different? If there is, let us know.

Thanks for sharing your problem. Good you can work with it now. I
still must mis my camera, because it is not repaired yet...

Hello kbelloise,

I now the adapter is external, but that does'nt take away the problem. The same thing (power shuts down) appears when I touch the lens, so there is certainly something wrong with the camera. But thanks for your answer anyway.

Greatings,
Peter
