New Rawshooter Premium supports R1!

While it may be good news that Rawshooter now supports R1 files - be aware that it does not do everything that you might expect. You have to shell out extra for the so called Colour Engine in order for it to work properly & therefore should take the combined price of these two modules into account when judging value for money.

I would recommend trying out SilkyPixs as an alternative.

RSP and RSP both work also without the extra profiles from color engine. CE is also not available for R1. I also tried Silkypix and it is extremely slow just like the Sony RAW converter. RSP offers a lot of color correction possibilities. Results are IMHO gorgeous.

In what way am I wrong ? If these two versions of this program are fully functional without the extra cost Colour Engine why is it needed ? If it is required to give correct colour with certain cameras then my comments are correct - as they stand - the versions without the CE are not fully functional - you can't have it both ways !

Simply because some users need special profiles for their cameras:

"RawShooter Plug-In Providing Sophisticated Color Profiles for Canon, Nikon, Pentax and Konica Minolta DSLRs"

Like with warmer or cooler tonality. But RSP works fine ven without CE. BTW: Did you try the software? ;-)

I not only tried the software but I also bought it - did you ? The rendering of colours is not bad in the standard version but is far from ideal - the blues are not correct & this is generally accepted. Some improvement can be brought about by using the colour wheel but that applies a change in more than one colour simultaneously.

I downloaded the trial of the colour engine but am not sure if it actually works or offers the KM 5D profiles - there is no help & apparently no difference in the colours but now the first thumbnail displays with about 5 degrees of rotation to the right. Some people ,it seems, are easily satisfied with faulty products but I am not one of those.
