I'll take the 45-point AF system for $500 and full frame sensor for another $500, Alex. Why not make weather sealing an option for $500. They should
seriously consider selling DSLRs like cars (some of them are almost
as much), let me pick what options I want to pay for. I'll take
45pt AF for another $500.
Though last I read, it failed the dunk test.
Calling something "weather sealing" is different than being useable
in rough weather conditions.

Oh yes , and the test mentions that. I quote (translated by me):just checked the battery door:
It has a rubber seal.
Oh no! I just traded all my Canon gear for Nikon! What am I going to do ?Oh yes , and the test mentions that. I quote (translated by me):just checked the battery door:
It has a rubber seal.
"When we look at the doors for memory card and battery compartment
we see some seals. It is obvious that these seals are not made to
be water resistant. To test it we put 5 drops of water on the
battery door. After a few seconds the water made its way under the
door. When we opened the door we saw that the seals had not
protected the room and that battery and contacts has become wet. We
immidiately dried out the water and turned on the camera. It didnt
work and we had to let the battery room / camera dry before we
could use it again.
D200 need to be held away from water. If we should trust Nikons
word in their own brochure, then they do not guarantee anything
about water and dust resistance. The camera is assumably better
protected against water and dust than other cameras, but caution is
still required as with all other cameras that is not water and dust
sealed."
Then I take the direct-print button please. At least it works ;-)Full weather-sealing AND a direct-print button?
You can't have both.
I think you are beeing a little harsh on the Sony sensor here. While certainly not high-end it is not completely rubbish ;-)One is targetted at the highest end of the market, the other at the
lowest.
I'm switching to Nikon this afternoon!
--What makes you think this guy even has a camera? Ever seen his
pictures?
Probably a keyboard photographer.
LOL, but I like you way of thinking.
LMAO

--I read your post, and after reading all the others about the 30D,
did not even consider your thread to be an attempt at humor.
Now, what does that say about the state of this forum?
Either way, my apologies for giving voice to what that post made me
think. Normally, I just smile and continue on by ... and what does
that say about this forums affect upon me?

You are a humourless nasty piece of work aren't you?"However I thought mine was pretty obviously satirical".
Swift you're not.
"Actually the fact that so many people didn't see the humour is, as
you say, a pretty sad reflection on the forum. I'm always ready for
a little irreverence..."
Actually, the fact that so many people didn't see the humor (sic)
is more a reflection on the execution of the "satire".
And while you were typing all of this, i was shooting Lambchop at
ISO3200 with just a tiny podium lamp, a sixty watt bulb behind a
gel 20 feet away in a corner and 6 overhead 100 watt bulbs that
were faded down until they were just bare light glows. That beats
your sports shooting all to hell and the fact that the result was
quite acceptable shows the obvious superiority of Canon over Nikon.
(see, that's bad satire, EXCEPT that the shooting part is true)
