Sigma Lenses

Another step closer to forgetting about the e-3... I'm not sure I'd be interested anymore!

So when are they available for purchase? I want to get my hands on that 30mm f/1.4 before my vacation next month.

The 10-20 isn't as attractive as it would be on APS size sensors. Also suffers in comparison with the 11-22 being a stop faster and weather proof.

I just bought the 14-54 and will hopefully have my first real outing with it this weekend. Poor credit cards ... :-P

The Sigmas can be good, but also poor, because of uneven production quality, after reading the test report page earlier noted. If you get a good one, you are getting a bargain. If I were buying one, I would have it very clear that it was on an exchange basis if not satisfactory. And certainly never risk getting a used one on Ebay or anywhere without a test.
Cheers,
Don

Given the announced non-IS f/2 lenses, I expect the image stabilisation will be in the next body. They have to have some form of IS to compete at the pro level, and an extra 2-3 stops of handholding capability would mean that the high ISO capability would be fine as it is. In fact, if they updated the AF, same 5MP sensor and IS in the body, I would be happy.

Too bad Costco doesn't carry the entire Sigma lens line. =P

I think we have both worked out our confusions; so there is a 105 Sigma macro for 4/3 too, and I get your point about preferring HSM.

It does seem that Sigma has added 4/3 versions of almost every lens that I could hope for (ruling out 35mm format wide angles, ones too similar to Olympus lenses, and very high priced super-telephotos that they do not make for Pentax or Minolta mount either.)

The stabilized 80-400 is maybe one to hope for yet, but Sigma does not even make that for Pentax or Minolta mount yet, despite its filling a gap in their 35mm film camera lens systems. And at least Panasonic/Leica are working on stabilized 4/3 lenses now.

Buy the 50-200.It's practical & sharp. Some of the new lenses are too constrictive.I find that with a 14-54 & a 50-200 I have 'just about' all I could ask for; focal length wise.
