Banding zealots & Phil's image. You're simply wrong...

I've actually been around here for over a year. I first joined the sony forum then moved to the nikon D70 forum then i'm over here. Don't you think you'd get tired of someone pushing the same idea down your throat? You'd think we get the point in one post, why having to create this infectious craze about something that is fixable.

lol I think my word choice is quite blunt, but that's how I talk w/ my friends so can't help'em. I'm just saying, it'd be really nice to see more constructive posts instead of the already ubiquitous posts about banding. I come to this forum to learn new things. Why whine about something constantly? I see no point. Why are you sick of people like me? I'm sick of people blurting the same things over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over .

to lighten the mood here's a joke:
What did the grape do when a person stepped on it?
It let out a little wine.

I'm very concerned about the D200 banding. Each message I post is either a new topic or question I haven't previously discussed or a contribution to others questions. If there is any amount of repetativeness, it's because I'm intoducing my thoughts to someone who has a topic or question that pertains to a previous post I made or contibuted to. A forum is a place to have discussions and dialogs. I don't think the topic is as open and shut of a case as you care to believe...unless I missed a memo from Nikon definitively explaining the mechanics behind the problem and their method of fixing it or why they are unable to eliminate it and why they think that is okay for me to have such a product. It's a complex issue...and will continue to be discussed over and over and over and over again - whether I contribute to it or not.

I saw one before and after (the fix) set from someone on the forums. Sorry I don't have the link. The after pic didn't look so hot to me. I'd really like to see some of your after pics when you get it back.

I've been ready to get a new dslr and was just waiting to see what canon and oly came out with since I have a 10D and E1 right now. The 30D doesn't do anything for me, and it looks like the E1 sucessor has been delayed again. So the D200 really looks good except for this banding issue. But if Fuji comes out with a killer S4 :) (as long as they don't price it out of reach)

That is great.

I mean it.

I'm talking about the people who are complaining but doing nothing about it. They cry and cry and cry but don't send the camera in or they don't own one.

Or they complain about 200% over exposed examples.

With yours I hope you get a perfect camera back
Yes you are a moron then.

I'm sick of the pixel peepers here. Get your cameras fixed and
stop being babies.

200% zooms and +4 ev examples are for idiots. Sorry but true.

So are photo's of lightbulbs.

Get it fixed and stop crying people.

Not all of them have banding. Mine has been perfect. If there is
banding on my camera tomorrow then I won't ***** about it like a
baby and I will get it fixed.

You guys need to get hobbies because photography obviously isn't
one for you.
You're right it's not a hobby for me. It's my PROFESSION and it's
my ART.

And I've been shooting for 46 years with almost every kind of
camera imaginable. And if you believe I'm just a pixel-peeper,
check out my galleries and exhibits.

And stop judging people without a hint of compassion or empathy.

In fact, it's probably smart to stop judging people completely.

BTW, I had banding ruin a photoshoot and it WAS visible in the
images, even at 8X10. That's what I sent in to Nikon, in fact.
We'll see how it comes back.

Oh, I definitely agree it was a chore to find, but I have to admit, I was not using more than a browser. Perhaps viewed in a sophisticated editor, it would have been easier to bring to the fore. Still don't think it's any big deal.
