I have noticed the left side of most of my pictures
are out of focus compared to the center and right side.
At first I thought it was a depth of field issue but
it happens when objects are the same distance left
or right of center. It appears to be more noticiable
with lower light situations.

any ideas?

thanks,
Ken

Hi Ken,

I did a search in the archives using the string "4800 focus" and found a whole bunch of discussion on the 4800 and focusing issues. Try searching the archives.

Hi Jeff,

I did take a look at all the previous DC 4800 focus problems
but did not find anything like the problem I am having
with the left side of the picture out of focus.

thanks for the idea,

Ken

send us a sample. and please resize to 600x400
if its as bad as you say, either exchange for a different
camera or get it fixed. the camera probably got dropped.

Ken,

I had the same problem with the first DC4800 I had. I e-mailed some samples to Kodak and the tech there said that I had a lens that was definitely out of focus. Don't know how long you've had your camera but if it's still under warranty, Kodak will give you a repair order # to send it in. Luckily, I had only had mine for about a week, so I just returned it to the store for an exchange. My advice would be to contact Kodak........I've been well pleased with their services. Hope you get good results!

It turns out when my wife purchased the camera for her business
she bought the extened BestBuy warranty.
The Camera is not yet 1 year old so I will visit BestBuy this week.

I have the BestBuy extended warranty for this camera and
BestBuy said I could apply the money spent for the camera
towards the purchase of any other camera.
I am thinking about the Sony DSC-P5, Olympus C-3000 and
Nikon 885. I don't know if this would be considered an
upgrade or not??
