D200 high ISO and VR sample (Large Post)

Thx everyone here. I've read a lot of good opinions here before I decided to get my D200.

I was stuck between 5D and D200, but in the end, I've decided to get more flexibility and control, I'm sure I can learn and try a lot more different types of photography with D200.

I wasn't sure at the beginning about noise on D200, but after printing some iso 1600 shots, I do agree that it is not bad at all, just run it through noise ninja is you want it silky smooth.

I took this shot handheld!, @ iso100 with the 18-200 VR, I think the VR on 18-200 does work better than that on the 70-200..

As you have demonstrated, it's not necessarily about how good the high iso stuff looks right out of the camera. It's about how much the file can handle when you mess with it. It's a great marketing advantage, but maybe not that important overall.

Check the test out it has prints from D200 and 5D iso 800 and 1600 they are saying they are very close to each other... and they loved D200 rated highest

In particular, I reckon I can sharpen the d200 pics a lot more than that of 20D before artifacts become visible.

which test are you refering to?

Great samples - did you shot RAW or JPG? would you mind sharing how did you post-process your Iso 1600 shots?? - they look so great even at Full Resolution....excellent work!!
