Hidden 30D page is probably a D30 page

4368 is the number of pixels across of the 5D

AND D30, it doesn't work. I'd think if it ws a D30 page that had
30D in the index, then that search would work. I increasingly lean
toward the belief the page is for real and is for a 10 megapixel
camera. But there are lots of hidden pages on that site, so who
knows what this one might be. It could be a page that has a tone of
comparison specs, and maybe 30D refers to something completely
different. But I must say that at least this has been fun ... much
better than the usual rumors that have been floating around here.
It appeals to the "detective" side of me.

30D AND "One-Shot" works
30D AND "10,2 pixel" works
30D AND "ISO 50" works
30D AND Spotmessung works (spotmetering yeah!)
30D AND "230.000 Pixel" works
30D AND "Li-Ionen-Akku" works
 
Every search term from this page works: including August 2005.

Maybe on the hidden page they misspelled D30.
 
I am a (very) long time lurker, first time poster... I am eagerly awaiting the replacement of the 20d to upgrade from the 300d, and this thread and the orriginal has been very entertaining. Well, to dash everyones hopes, I thought I would suck it up after many years and post my first thread.

I am a (very) long time lurker, first time poster... I am eagerly awaiting the replacement of the 20d to upgrade from the 300d, and this thread and the orriginal has been very entertaining. Well, to dash everyones hopes, I thought I would suck it up after many years and post my first thread.

The page does not mention 30D.

I think they are using 5D pages as templates to draw up info on the 30D - so a lot of the info which has been pulled is referring to the 5D as they have not got around to altering it yet - the 10.2 is probably right though

Think you've got it there Jake. That 5D page refers to the 30D in the context of the bundled software - it says something along the lines of the software being compatible with RAW files for models up to the 30D?

Not sure if this confirms the new camera will be 30D but I noticed a while ago that an online site that markets adapters for connecting digital cameras to high quality microscopes suddenly started listing the Canon 30d alongside the 20D etc. in its list of compatible cameras for one of its mounts.
 
Yes it does near the bottom. Do a find for 30d on that page. Its there and I quote "unterstützt und bis zur EOS 30D abwärtskompatibel ist."

PS... go to google and google the following:

30d site:canon.at

you get hits to that page which is an austrian press release for the 5D and a pdf of the austrian press release for the 5D.

..But it looks to me as though different sites have different documents in different stages of development for the 30D - as you would expect with a release on Tuesday.

They seem to have jumped the gun by altering the 5D info to say that it is compatible with the 30D.

Yeah, I have no idea why the europe main canon page does not link to that page. They may have taken it off due to the reference to the EOS 30D???

No too sure, could just be a typo, could be the intentional leak that no one picked up on till today.

But it was fun while it lasted (and has been the most credible speculation that I have seen yet, that is until I came across that). But it does look like it will be the 30D (????). Let the naming confusion begin...

The bottom, fuzzy one is the one that looks credible to me.

I can't believe how tightly Canon have controlled info this time - perhaps the leaks they always had in the past were not intentional, and they have told everyone that they will walk the plank if there are any leaks!
