Hey Everyone,

This is Mahkayla, my Husky Mix that we rescued 2 months ago. We just got buried (and just as quickly, melted) with snow here in NYC. This is one of the shots I took of her:

Let's see some of yours!

I see that Julie has a thread on St. Bernards here already. I probably would not have posted this had I been more attentive. Now there are TWO pet threads in the forum. :(

Thats okay because I don't have a dog! Only birds, and this is my Gertie who passed away during a surgery to remove an egg that broke inside her. :o( It was the first time she had even tried to lay an egg in 6 years. She was my little girl and I still cry everyday from missing her so much. Oh how I loved her!!!

This is Gertie and my albino cockatiel Billy (bill gates) He misses her very much too!

What I sad story about your bird. One thing that having pets has done to me has highlighted everyone's sense of mortaility and just how important each person in my life is. I know that my first cat's loss, Roger, two years ago, forever changed my wife's perspective on pets. It is something, I think, she never would have understood had she not had Roger in her life.

Thank you for your thoughts.

James

They are all soooo cute, handsome, and cute! I love that last shot of Buffy! The tail wagging is just perfect! Makes you just want to kiss her on her head. :o)

The look on the dogs face is wonderful. I love the DOF you used in this shot. I can't decide what expression is on the dogs face. Just a great dog shot.

The first shot was done with my Raynox DCR-FE180Pro conversion lens. I originally bought this lens for my E-20 (which I still have), but have used it a couple of times mounted to my 14-54mm with a step-down ring (67-62mm). I'm very careful to support the Raynox with my hand when using it this way, as it is a very heavy piece of glass. As soon as the 8mm fisheye is available, and I have a little spare $ I'm going to buy it -- I love fisheye shots. Here's one I did of my old dog 'Gremlin' (no longer around :-()

several years back using the Sigma 8mm fisheye on my old Canon T90. I have several more of these shots in my Pbase gallery.

God Bless,
Greg

I hand held that at 1/4 sec. Didn't think I would get it. Anytime you say her name, Buffy wags her tail furiously. I know we won't have her with us much longer so getting that shot was really important to me because that's how I will always remember her.
