I love the D200. Very fast! I like the AF sensor grouping. I don't have to recompose as much. When I shoot portrait, I just choose the AF-group that is closest to the model's head and let the camera do the rest. Getting a lot more correctly focused shots. I recently found out why some of my shots sucked though, and it's NOT because of the D70. But instead, because of the 18-70 lens. at 18 to about 22mm, it's VERY VERY SOFT. I took a picture of some text that was clearly in focus on the VF and snapped it at 18mm and it was horrible blurry. then, without changing the focus, I zoomed in and shot. Very sharp. Which means, some of my issues that I blamed on the D70 and low light was unfounded. Bad me!!
I also like the b/w mode. if you shoot in RAW, you can still convert back to color if you change your mind
