I am, that way i dont have to have 2 different memory cards. Maybe canon will use SD to save room for something else.

SD is too small and I have just bought new CFs in order to upgrade my 10D to 3xD.

I just bought a new 2GB Extreme III CF to add to my collection of 1GB, 512MB and 256 MB cards. I expect that Canon will remain commited to CF for the foreseable future. I also want the battery to be the same. I am sure Canon will attempt to make the upgrade path as comfortable as possible (read, 1.6x sensor)

It would be greater if they put both SD and CF support.

I guess that would work as well, i just have compact cameras now and sd option would be nice to not have 2 types of cards.

If you want to use SD then get a good SD-> CF adapter like the Minolta one.

I have a bunch of CF cards already from using my D30 & 10D. Don't want to invest in another set of cards.

I do use SD for my S2, but I have to tell you I don't like it. They're much smaller than CF therefore much harder for me to handle, I'm much more apt to drop an SD. Smaller in this case is not better.

SD stinks!

I want my BP-511, EF-S, and Compact Flash!!! Why would I have my camera set up with grip and huge lenses, but insist on teeny tiny cards.

I need something to hold on to. Canon has more interest in keeping SLR users happy than digicam users wishing to get an SLR. Current SLR users would be quite irritated to have to buy new cards. We would feel deserted after having spent tons of cash on gear. We might even switch on principal.

DSLR user spend thousands, digicam user spend $500. Which customer base do they want to keep around and keep happy?

Also i dont get the argument: "I have compact flash so I hope it never changes" If this attitude were typical we would never have made the change to digital.

If SD is cheaper, smaller and faster (which it is, except speed is only now catching up) then why not have it.

better yet as some have mentioned have both. The hardware costs would be trivial. and the space requirements also trivial.

i would pay an extra 15 or 20 bucks to have both slots. I dont even care if you cant use them at the same time like the higher end cameras.

i bet canon makes more cash from the Point and shoot market of cameras than they do from DSLRs.

also whats the downside to being compatible with a smaller faster cheaper technology?

i understand people have investments in CF, however they could just have 2 slots in the camera kinda like one of the 7in1 memory readers you can get for your PC.
