I've been playing a little with PSE3 and a photo I took of the Gherkin in London. First version shown is the "original" (raw converted in DPP), next is b&w and third is a blend of the two: the gherkin is slightly in colour whilst the rest is b&w.

Which work(s) for you? Any further PP tips or suggestions welcome.

Nice photo,

I think the blend is the best as it makes the building stand out. How did you produce the blend on the pc?

Looking carefully, I like the effect of the blend. However, I am partial to a nice deep blue sky. So I'll go for the first photo on a first impression. Or is it 2nd impression.

I like the blend, it draws the eye to the building.

Thanks - I'm tempted to agree about the blend.

I used a hue/saturation layer mask to tone down the saturation of the building and turn the rest of the photo to b&w, then used a levels layer mask to darken the building a little.
