This is what I can do with Z750

I think the Z750 is a very unique camera. The pictures are not as sharp as with my old Canon G3 - but very, very close - and what a brick the G3 is. Besides, the Z750 can shoot outstanding movies - and only limited by the size of the memory-card. The Z750 makes it vere easy to freeze memories for a lifetime :-) .

Below you can see som of my best shots. Now - as stated in my subject - this is some of the best I - ME.... , you know - can do with the Z750 :-) . I am no Artshot Sue :-) .

The first one is a shot of a sunset not far from here. To me the windmills makes this not just another sunset-shot. Rather fantastic that a picture like this is possible with the tiny Z750 - I think :-) . I used the internal red-filter.

And just a normal flower-shot.........

A picture of a very old coin from the time where men with funny horns stuck on their heads ran around the world poking with swords and axes. Oh yes - the Vikings! Look at the details!! I think it is incredible, that they could make a coin like this a that time! This is truly art - the coin, I mean! The coin was only 1,5 x 1,5 cm's big! Not a VERY sharp picture perhaps, but actually the size of the coin makes it okay I think. Handheld with flash shot a little from the side to avoid glares. Besides the coin was behind glass.

Just a picture of a very beautiful house that caught my atention in my street:

And a picture from my street. An overcast day - but I gave it at little touch in Photoshop Elements 4.0.

A lazy little fly getting a tan in the sun.

And finally a picture from our mini-vacation in Germany for half a year ago. This is our view from the hotol-window. Not bad, is it? :-) .

I hope I have'nt bored you too much. A bit? - well, that is okay :-) .

If you have comments - please don't keep them as a secret.

And - excuse me for my strange English :-) .

Outstanding shots! These should put to rest any doubts anyone might have regarding the capabilities of the Z750.

Thanks :-)

I surely had doubts too before I bought the Z750 - but today I am VERY happy that I did!! It is a little gem! I have had it now for a half a year without any problems at all - and I have used it a lot!

Buy it and you will be happy :-) .

As an happy owner of Z750 from April 2005 I at last see the shots similar to mine- of course I understand that the majority of posts deal with problems- IMHO the greatest pocket camera I've seen so far!

Enjoy Your camera and please share Your best with all of us- it seems that much people are not satisfied with Z750- but IMHO the reason is not in the camera...

Best, JR

How do you include images when you compose your posting as you have here? I cannot find a FAQ for this.

yes, someone please answer this one, lol

My English is not good, but I will try to explain.

1

To begin with you will have to have a place on the internet, where you can upload your photos. A place where everybody can see your pictures without having to enter a password ;-) . A public place! Upload your photos.

2

When you have done that, you will have to enter the place where you have the pictures and right-click on the picture, you want to post on http://www.dpriview.com . Then click "proberties". A new windows opens - and now you must select and copy the adress for your picture. The end of the adress is the name of your picture.

3

Paste the adress in your message in dpreview - and thats it!!! When you are done press "Preview" to see, if you can see your picture.

This is one way to do it.

I hope this can be of some help to you :-) .

And thank you very much for your comments on my pictures :-) .

Thank you for your comments on my pictures :-) .

Your shot "Lake Evil" is really beautiful!! There is not other word to it! Outstanding job!

I have made a post here below that hopefully answers your question.

Hello some really cool shots, thanks for posting.

I would not judge this a beautiful house (interesting, maybe?) but then I guess that is all a matter of personal opinion:

(Also if I was to try and describe a photo of mine in Danish I do not know what the OP would make of it!)

Cheers

Many pros keep saying it is the photographer and not the camera that makes great shots. In this case I think both contributed. Nicely done.

I have just shot a few new photos this morning. We had a bit of snow last night here in Denmark. I tried to catch some of the atmosphere. Hope I managed. The horizont looks very dark - more snow may be on its way... And sure enough - it's snowing right now as I am writing this.

In this picture i made the background sharp....... but I think the picture above is better.......

The picture here below did'nt look interesting AT ALL when I came home with and watched it on my monitor. Something HAD to be done with it!! I felt it had some potentials. So I gave it a lot of contrast, sharpness and made it B/H. Tried to make a dramatic effekt. Here is the result:

Hope it was worth looking at :-) .

I hope you will all have a nice day.

Kent, these are great! The windmills shot is just lovely. The colors are so rich and the details in the water are beautiful.

The flower and fly macros are a bit fuzzy, try to back up a little and then crop and you will get sharper macros. I had to learn this (when I'm not using my close-up lenses) there is so much room to crop with this camera, that seems to be the secret for getting decent macros.

The coin looks good to me though, the details are amazing. I used to sculpt coins for the Franklin Mint, and I made money for some small countries, like Trinidad and Tobago... but I had the opportunity to work larger and a machine could reduce the pieces so the detail would look sharp. These guys had to work on the designs directly. I am very impressed with the craftsmanship! You did a great job of showing off the depth and detail without blowing out the highlights.

Have you tried the new firmware? The yellow house looks a bit oversaturated, but it is nice and sharp. Same with the one on your street and the grass in the cow photo. I do like the way the lines are nice and clean and not distorted on the street shot, and it seems like the noise level is really low for a twilight shot.
The cow needs a haircut, but he's a cute little bugger :)

It always makes me laugh when people who don't use English as their main language use it more correctly than native speakers - and then apologize for it! Your English sounds fine to me!

Thanks, Sue :-) . I think it is one of the best pictures, I have ever shot.

Yes, you're right - they are a bit fuzzy - especially the fly macro. I just thought, that it couldn't be better..... but okay.... it is a long time since I saw some of your photos for the first time, and they were a lot sharper than these. And when I shoot macros, I always try to get as close a possible all the time - so thank you very much for telling me this! :-) . Next time I will remember to back up a little and then crop afterwards.

I shot about 10 pictures of the coin, before I got this good one. It was not an easy task - handheld, the coin being behind glass and using flash and all. Yes - I was stunned.... incredible, that it was possible to make so many details in such a tiny coin so many years ago. The artist sertainly had to have good eyes :-) .

Yes - I am using the latest firmware - 1.02. The thing is... I like colours a lot :-) . I have actually retouched these photos in Photoshop Elements 4.0, and one of the things I did was to tune up the saturation. So - it is just me being a bit odd ;-) . And yes - very low noise level in the street shot - what a great camera :-) . I havn't used any software to reduce noise in the pictures. Not this time - but I sometimes use Neat Image.

I know my spelling could be better and things like that - but nice to hear, that you can understand me ;-) .

Thank you very much for your comments and advices! I'll remember your words the next time I shoot macros :-) .

Hi Kent

Thanks :-) . I am quite sure it is one of the very best small cameras there is. I researched a LOT, before I got it. We are talking months.

Thank you for your kind words :-) .

Kent, Great photos. What wasyour camera settings for saturation,
contrast, etc. What versionfirmware areyou using. Thanks for the
psting
Well, I often change camera settings to suit me needs, but the settings for the sunset-picture is:

File size: 4,35 MB
Resolution: 3072 x 2304 pixels
Quality: Fine
Recording mode: Best Shot(Scene013) (the sunset-mode)
Light metering: Matrix
Shutter speed: 1/160 seconds
Aperture stop: F7.4
Exposure comp.: 0.00EV
Focusing mode: Infinity
Flash mode: Off
Sharpness: -1
Saturation: +1
Contrast: 0
White balance: Day Light
Sensitivity: ISO 50 equivalent
Filter: Red
Enhancement: Off
Digital zoom: Off
City
Date: 2005/12/25 15:33
Model name : EX-Z750

... And I used firmware 1.02.

The picture is also retouched in Photoshop Elements 4.0. I sharpened it a bit and gave it even more red-filter. Guess I also tuned up the saturation. I like colours a LOT :-) .

A question ..... In the EXIF, what does "Enhancement: Off" mean??? What sort of "enhancement" is it referring to? I don't know of any enhancement that can be turned on in the camera. Is it noice-enhancement when shutter is longer than 1 or 2 seconds or something like that?

Kent

Enhancement is basically increasing the saturation of a given colour tone. You can edit that via BestMan - options are: none; flesh tones; red; green; blue; etc
