I know photography is a little of topic on this forum at the moment, but...

Plaza de Oriente

Retiro

Jardin Botanico

Puerta de Alcala

Plaza de la Armeria

Thanks to those that helped me choose which lenses to take to Madrid a few weekends ago, and thanks to those that told me what to see...

--Have you heard about the new camera...? Just kidding.

Hope you had a great trip. I like the first two night shots the best of the ones you posted.

Actual photos being posted in a photography forum? Where're the forum police when you need 'em.

Those are nice shots, but I'm sure they'd have been ever so much better if you'd only have had the new 30D instead. Couldn't you have put off your trip until the new thing was available? Shame on you!

but I was expecting a leak about the 3xD. Imagine seeing some nice photos from the same ole same ole.

I'm so glad he embedded them, too, links are a pain, but I know some posters have to do it that way.

Good job and it must have been a nice trip!

This is mainly a digital photo equipment site and not so much a "photograhy" site.

Awesome shots dave,
I was looking for you in Retiro that Sunday.

Your shot from retiro, if it was on Sunday, was probably where I was taking pictures with my sigma 20. Though, as I don´t see the signs of the crowds of people that would have be there I´d say it was probably another day(and no rowboats on the lake...).... or maybe this was later using a long shudder speed (no exif)?

and... I´m really impressed seeing these great shots from around my neighborhood.
missing the classic shot of the plaza mayor though?
congratulations

Hi Alex, shame we missed each other, it was Sunday we were in the Retiro, but it was busy, we went to the small lake by the glass house too. The Retiro one was shot after all the boats had been moored, and it was getting dark with mini-tripod 28mm@f22, can't remember the shutter speed now, but it was several seconds. Man you can tell even the slightest dirt marks on the sensor at those settings!

I did get some shots from the Plaza Mayor on the Sunday morning, but none of them "classic", they must have had some event there as 1/2 of it was covered in sand and behind barriers.

All the best,
