Personal info

I live in Reston, Virginia, USA in a 2 bedroom appartment (one bedroom is our office) with my girlfriend Heidi. I was a network administrator until 2 weeks ago when Computer Associates laid off 900 people. I'll be looking for a new position or some consulting work soon.

For now, I'm playing with my new UZI, and volunteering as an engineer/mentor for a local high-school robotics team. I plan to put some pics up on my web site soon, and Heidi will be putting some of her D-490 pics from out recent trip to England and Scotland on her web site.

My web site is http://www.InvisibleRobot.com/

Heidi's sites are http://www.DarkStory.com and http://www.FactOrFantasy.com/

No real hope for recovery, except for when I see my parents rushing toward the power switch :-)
Is there really hope for recovery?

I was laid up for a good part of this year with injuries. The
codene didn't
get me, but I sure got hooked bad on this site.

And yes, all views, all types should mix it up here. Pretty neat!

Your Brother in Internet Slavery,

Dave

Computers are really addictive, especially the Internet and this
forum for me. I'm going to have to get a new chair soon.
DPA makes sense to me; they have 12 step programs for other addictions. Since I am retired, I have a lot of time on my hands. I am neglecting my housecleaning, but then I'm always looking for excuses to avoid that. Someone once gave me a bumper sticker that said, "Have you hugged your computer today?"

I don't understand what DPA is

Hi Waqas.

A search wouldn't have given you any help. It's just a joke between those of us who're spending too much time in this forum. We're addicts, so the DPA is just what we came up with like a sort of AA (Alcoholics Anonymous).

I wish more people would tell a little about themselves in the
personal information such as what type of work they do, what
country or city they live in, etc. I find those interesting when I
find one with some info.

Digital Photographers Anonymous. I thought you had figured that out.

No Juli, as the founder of DPA I beg to differ. It's DPreview Anonymous! ;-)

Folks,

It is still all in good fun (About Heidi). The truth is somewhere but out of there :-)

Interesting reading. Regarding Heidi, if she's telling the truth
this time, I think we should give her a break. :-)

Regards, Maxven
I have been interested in photography for over 35 years, even did
some professional work at one time ( yes Heidi PROFESSIONAL ) but
in recent years I have gotten away from it. In addition I am a
short wave radio listener, avid reader and love listening to jazz.

I started in digital photography with a cheap Kodak DC3200, but
when i bought the C2100UZ for the business my photographic
interest was reawakened. This forum has been wonderful -- the
sense of community, the fun, the knowldge and most of all the
TALENT ( again Heidi -- TALENT lots of it really take a look)
I find so many incredible images here -- some taken with
cameras besides the UZI LOL

Keep up all the great stuff I am here to stay

Another fairy-tale for "stupid" Oly-2100 uzers?
A check from the different side? :-)))

Oh, I'm all for this! :-) I made a lot of enemies in this forum
and I want them all to know more about me.

My name is Heidi. Everything I wrote before were opposite of what
I really am. I am ugly, poor and sad. Desperate for attention, I
try to do everything so people would talk to and about me.

I've had divorced twice. I have two kids -- one eight and one
three years old.

I hope you can forgive me for annoying a lot of you. It was all
for the sake of attention, nothing else.

Peace and love to all of you.

Margo (a.k.a. Heidi S, the troll)

Just updated my profile with most recent info.

Good luck on the job hunting. These are tough times.

Well, I have been trying to get around to doing this but something always distracts me. ^ My name is Carmen Towles and I reside in Los Angeles, Calif. I am 46 years of age, I attended Irvine University graduated with a BA in Psychology. I am currently working on my masters. I am divorced and I have three children, 1 kitty (Samantha), and 1 dog (Cody). I am currently taking care of my mother who is 87 years and totally disabled. My hobbies are digital (of course) and gardening.
Hello, my name Richard Drury, I live in the Metro Atlanta area and
work for a major U.S. Airline in their Flight Simulator Dept. I
have been a flight simulator technician for over 18 years. I
started in the Air Force with the A-10 simulator, then worked on
Navy Submarine simulators, and now have been with my present
company for 13 years in their Flight Simulator Dept. I currently do
computer networking consulting as a side business, where I design
and install computer networks for churches and non-profit
orginizations. I have owned my UZi since May 2001 and have enjoyed
every minute of it. This camera has allowed me to take a chance on
taking a picture without the worry of wasting film (money). That
has allowed me to be more creative in my photography.
I think all of us UZi fanatics share your enthusiasm. Welcome aboard.

Oh my, my apologies for the error.

oh ic

Islam orders us to stay away from alchohal, so I haven't heard of the term AA, otherwise I would have figured it out :)

Only the picture is about 3 years old now.I have a few more lines
on my face, and my hair is straight. :-)
