Subject: SONY DSC-F707 BFS Problem

I am interested in buying the DSC-F707. But from the Internet Web Site
http://www.dpreview.com SONY Forum, I understand that there is an intermittent Blue
Overcast problem when taking Photo using Flash. And it seem that SONY is
recalling all the DSC-F707s in the USA to correct the problem. May I know
whether the DSC-F707s in Singapore are having the same problem? If yes,
when will the corrected model be available. Thanks.

I have sent 3 emails to Sony(HK), no reply so far...

I have called CS Helpdisk 2 times, they told me that I may not know how to use the camera(!!)

sigh~

Regards.

It seems that the staff at SonyHK are not properly trained, especially on the function of their products.

One day I went to a Sony Pro-shop in HK asking the functions of the Sony Flash unit for Sony digital cameras, I forgot the model number, FL1000?.

You know how the person at the Sony Pro-shop replied?

He said: "no special function!", If this is the case, why I bother using US$120 to buy it.

They should change their name, they aren't professional.

Shame!

Dark Angel: You have a 707 from S'pore which has the BFS problem right?
Why not send in your serial number and see what Sony Singapore says?

Would be interesting to see their response. Btw, where did you get your 707 from? Cathay or Sim Lim or where?

:-)
Isn't being rude and ignorant part of Hong Kong salesmen's training?

They make you feel bad for imposing on their time and then make you buy because why shouldn't you believe them when they tell you this is the camera you need?

They are the salesman, aren't they? Really, consumers these days! Think they got rights, or something!

I bought mine from Cathay.
Yah, I'm gonna give them a call tomorrow.

Glad that at least people in Singapore knew something
I always thought they would take reference from what's been done in U.S.

That's why I didn't call them and prefer to wait and see what's being done in US.

Thanks Koh & Lenny!

Dear Koh,

Thanks for the posting regarding the F707, I too in Malaysia was trying to enquire the BFS problem but the retailers gave me no straight answer or they are totally ignorant regarding the problem. What I would like to know from Sony Singapore/Malaysia is that they've actually addressed the BFS problem , if so what are the serial nos coz' I am still holding on whether F707 or G2.
Thanks
