Will we ever see a review for A610 in Dp Review?

Will we ever see a review for A610 in Dp Review?

Regards
I waited and waited and ... I decided to buy it anyway.
In case I won't like it - I will return it.
It was scheduled to early this year but "early" is subjective.

This camera uses a newer version of the 5MP sensor from Sony. It is more sensetive than the previous version and much more sensetive than the 7MP sensor and its saturation level is significantly higher than the 7MP.

I bought it looooooong time ago.
I just wanted a detailed review here, I read others in other forums!

So you want to read that it is the better choice, right ?
I have not got mine.
How do you like its high ISO performance ?

Am eagerly waiting for this review too, hopefully as a last bit of research (along with other reviews/comments) before making a decision :s

I wonder if there's any kind of estimate as to a completion date? I read that its been in the works since about the start of December so hopefully its nearing completion. However I did read the post LCP123 pointed to some time ago so I completely understand if theres a delay and I wish the reviewers here all the best with getting to grips with stuff offline and thank them greatly for their hard work on this site. :)

soudou,

if you are awaitng the test report on the A610 I would chance the remark that you will not need that report.

There are some differences in the spec sheet that no test will change (eg. remote control).

Then there could be a difference in picture quality. I would like to get a good evaluation on this topic to test my expectation: I think there is hardly any difference worth to consider! Would be most interesting to know if that is true.

I tried to compare my A620 to my aged Canon G2 (4 MP) and quit: in all real world shots the G2 shots were often slightly better in image quality! But I use the A620 now: less bulky, lighter in weight and faster in operation. That counts more than some niggles directed to the A620: lower quality LCD display, clipped high lights, noise and colour saturation (that I learn by and by to comensate in pre-setting parameters).

I would be surprised if any test would show the A610 to be that much inferior to the A620 (if at all!) to justify your waiting. If one would value lost shots in this time of waiting against any slight differences in the two machines under consideration one could mark up a large loss in fine images just by NOT having a Canon A6x0.
Go, buy one.

Thanks fiebl for responding! :) Very good of you.

Thats a good point. I dunno how often I'd use remote capture but an extra feature is always a plus.

Yeah thats the only bit I'm worried about really. Its implied by some that the a610 has better image quality (especially in low light) and is sharper so am wondering if its better to forfeit the a620 due to that (I'm a newbie so dunno how much I'll need to crop etc. but it'd probably be best to have the option there, just not at a cost to picture quality).... :\

And again you make a very good point about a camera being better than no camera :) This will be my first digicam so I feel I can wait to make the best choice since I've gone without a camera for plenty of time already but then this forum is really encouraging so at the same time I'm eager to get one asap :D

I am about to buy an A620. I was at first going to get the 610 for economical reasons, but I am able to find the A620 for a mere $70 more than the A610. For this reason alone, i want the 620 over the 610, but now, I have discovered some talk about better sensitivity and even more resolution out of the 5MP sensor...

Can anyone elaborate on this?

Yes, I am very interested to hear more about this too. I have the money for an A620, but if the A610 takes better quality shots, then maybe the increase in resolution isn't worth it...?
