Hi

I have a 50mm 1.8 AI-S lens. I know this can be used on the d2x but does the camera alert you as to when you are in focus?

also are there focusing screens available that have the micro-lenses or split prism in the center for manual focus? (eg Brightscreen)
thanks

Hi

The answer is yes, it's a round green focus indicator in the viewfinder, works
like a charm and i use it all the time, it even works with the focus selection
points in the viewfinder, try it, you will love it...

thanks all.
of course its a 50/50 split on the info so i'm not sure :)
anyone can break the tie here?
thanks

Yep, I used that all the time for the MF lenses on my D1. I liked the little left/right front/backfocus indicators as well, although I never got comfortable using them to rotate the barrel - that was always best done by habit.

Still, I'm sad those arrows are gone on the D200!

One of the great things about the D2x is the way it handles manual lenses. Once you program the Non-CPU lens into the D2x the correct aperture is displayed on the LCD as you rotate the lens aperture ring. This was a revelation when I first used the camera.

I downloaded the manual before I got my camera so I would have a head start learning the operation of the camera.

I hope this helps,
