TEST tokina 100 300 +E500 100% crop

This is Zuiko 50-200+1.4TC.

I don't think the use of the 1.4 was suicide as you say. Looks sharp to my eye. It is also very cropped,

i will check Remi, is a 2 years old images

btw the sure thing is no USM apllied (also the kodak raw converter has only 3 level of sharpness, and when applied to kodak software its better then any USM in photoshop)

look at review on this site of the kodak DCS 760 you will see the sharpest files you have ever seen

the only problem is the moire effect on the images with patterns, but i will pay it to have razor sharp images

angelosm,

my E-1 + ZD ED 50-200 + EC-14 easily outperforms the soft test shots you posted here. Adding the EC-14 to the ZD ED 50-200 does not change the image quality. You can fint many many testimonials on that in this very forum. The resolution is limited by the 5MP of the camera and they are crisp and sharp - I doubt that there will be any big difference with the E-300.

Everything is possible - miracles are just a bit harder

Hi Angelo!

I do have AI and AIS verison of the 200/2.0 myself - there is a small increase in optical quality with the AIS version, so you should look for one of those. If you can only find an AI version (at a decent price) you can't won't regret buying one either (the difference is minimal).

TCs are another story - it's tempting to try to get more reach that way, but in my experience, this lens (both version I have) doesn't work well with TCs (the one's you would typically get to buy).

Regards
Alex

Having looked at a few RAW samples from the Leica DMR (no AA filter too), I can understand you !
