Brief prologue:

It is a well known fact that the male dog lifts a leg when taking a leak. This is not an inherent behaviour, but it usually make its debute sometime during the first year. When this instinct finally came to our little pug, he somehow managed to overdo the thing entirely. He fell over on his back, and was left peeing stright up into the air, onto most of the surroundings including himself. This he did not like (fortunately), so he decided on an entirely new approach to the classic stance. It took a while to perfect the technique, but now, a few years later, he's pretty impressive. Took a shot of him in action during a walk a while ago, and thought I'd share. The composition isn't much to write home about, but the "talent" comes across pretty nicely.

Your dog should join the circus in Sweden...that's a heckuva balancing act! ;-)

ROFLMAO!!!!!!! .......and that's his "normal" method??? Really, just TOO funny!!!!!

Laughted my head off. Great picture and a really clever dog. Thanks for sharing.

I'm surprised he can be relaxed enough for anything to come out in that position! What will he do when he's an old man and can no longer do a hand stand! Really too funny! I'm sure you could get more fame from his little habits :-)

Afraid so. That's the way he does it.. We get the gasp of disbelief
from people passing by quite a lot.. :o)
I imagine those people think its really impressive that this dog is putting on a little acrobatic act for them, then they see the big finnish and....

Very funny, thanks for sharing :D

This fellow has talent. Keep us up to date as the years pass...can't wait to see what he does later in life.

Erik,

That is a David Letterman Show candidate if I have ever seen one, only it is not a "Stupid Pet Trick" (as called on the show)

Your little guy has a lot of talent. Wow, amazing photo too! You really catured it all! So let me get this right, he couldn't lift one leg with out falling on his back, but he can do a hand stand.

Nice

gives a whole new meaning to the maxim "If you want to run with the big dogs, you have to lift you leg high."

We have a golden retriever, I often wonder what goes through their minds and how they come up with stuff like this.
