Searching for experience with both lenses.

Post some pics and what have you -
I am mostly interested in speed and 500mm results :)

Very nice pics - Pretty darn sharp!

Anyone tried the Tamron? - From the review on photonet compared to the 5000$ Canon prime it does a pretty nice job but I havent seen anyone use it.

I have the lens and it wasn't difficult to guess that those animal images came from this lens. I think I will have to visit the zoo one of these days.

There seem to be a lot of people around with Bigmas these days. We were rare once, now were over populated. LOL. I guess we'll be the ones getting shot soon. LOL

Go for the Bigma. I shoot motor sport and this lens gives me some great results ... consistently ... without having to rob a bank to pay for it.

Although I have decided to go for the Tamron as I am already well
covered in the 70-200 area with my L lens.

After reading some reviews its a no brainer

Final words is though that the Bigma looks awesome aswell :)

Thank you bothering :)
Try one first since my friend switched his Tamron for the Bigma because it was not sharp, it may have been a bad example but always try the lens before you buy which ever model you choose.

Yes and I will. Thankfully I´ve dealt with tamron in the past and they usually are understandable with such lacks

Hmmm - I may be way off base here, but I have a bit of problem when the reviewer lists Tamron (and not Sigma) as one of his sponsors and then gives a glowing review of a Tamron lens. Since the Bigma wasn't compared directly to the Tamron, I'm not sure I would be willing to draw the conclusion that it's a no-brainer decison - at least not based on just that review.

But, I am not familiar with either of the lenses or the reviewer - so he may be absolutely right on the money.

I read the test, do I understand corretly that any lens use with the APS-C type camera will usually have lower optical result than if used with non-APS-C camera i.e. the higher end Canon ?

Thanks anyone.

..I never hear anyone talk about the Tamrom 200-500. But I do hear a lot of talk about the Bigma, which I also have and love, love, love! But it is heavy and as its nickname.. is big!
