Personal info

Neat looking web page Suzn, certainly more attractive than mine. I don't seem to have the patience to work extensively on one, or maybe I'm just too darn slow at it! Yours is very nice.

Juli thanks,

Sorry that I see I misunderstood in a way and should update my profile here. Well......I don't get too much use for that hokey page so today I did. :-) But thanks for your kind words.

Your puppies are very sweet and beautiful. I wish I could have a couple of every breed. The Westies and the Scotties sure have a reputation of being wonderful dogs.

Thanks again,

Suz

Hey Gary thanks! I visited your page and thought it was very nice.

I do a bit of the graphic and web page design in my spare time so it's a labor of love. Like Maxven it helps me to pay for my other addictions (like cameras) and keeps my artistic side a bit inspired since my "real job" doesn't. :-)

Thanks again.

Hi Juli and all,

I am a relative newbie to Oly Talk Forum. I bought an Uzi from CompUSA on the 19th of Oct. I have owned a Sony 505v since Aug. 2000, after having owned a Sony S70 (great little camera). I followed with lot's of interest the posting of Uzi photos and the threads here concerning it. When the "sdale" happened at CompUSA I just couldn't resist. I haven't had this much fun with a camera in MANY years. Still "experimenting", but as others have posted before, I am totally thrilled with this camera, and "blown away" by the quality of its' images. I can't get over how LITTLE post processing there is to do with most of my UZI photos. Definately a change from what I have been used to!!! AMAZING!!!!

I have been "a member" of the Sony Talk Forum here since June of 2000. I work in Youth Corrections, and I live in Ventura, California, a costal city 30 miles south of Santa Barbara. I look forward to "visiting" here more frequently.

Hi Juli

This is Mike S (formerly MikeS) I am 54 Married for 27 years with 2 kids a 19 year old son and a 14 year old daughter. I design web sites for a living. I own my own company along with my business partner. Before that for 23 years I was a packaging structural designer.

I have been interested in photography for over 35 years, even did some professional work at one time ( yes Heidi PROFESSIONAL ) but in recent years I have gotten away from it. In addition I am a short wave radio listener, avid reader and love listening to jazz.

I started in digital photography with a cheap Kodak DC3200, but when i bought the C2100UZ for the business my photographic interest was reawakened. This forum has been wonderful -- the sense of community, the fun, the knowldge and most of all the TALENT ( again Heidi -- TALENT lots of it really take a look) I find so many incredible images here -- some taken with cameras besides the UZI LOL

Keep up all the great stuff I am here to stay

Hi Steve.

I don't think your website is too bad. Sure it could be spiced up a bit, but I found a lot of useful information there. I know of the problems you describe from a close friend who suffer from social phobia. It's a very hard subject to understand but I think you do a good job explaining the phenomena. We both work as volonteers at our local cinema which is driven completely non profit by about fifty people. His phobia is so bad that he can't even watch the movies since he gets claustrophobic when being amongst other people watching the movie.

Unfortunately I have my hands full right now, so I haven't got time to take another job in the near future. If it can wait until after christmas I wouldn't mind taking a look at it. As far as price goes it all depends on what you want from your website and how much of the material you deliver yourself. Maybe Suzn can take your job right away...?

A neat idea!.... of course this requires we drop our veil of
anonymity that the internet provides!..... If interested you can
find out a little about me at: http://www.behaviorconsultants.com
And to Maxven and Suzn.......... Any help w/ my website GREATLY
appreciated... It was a beginning, but needs updating!... What
would you charge?... Really!

Oh, I'm all for this! :-) I made a lot of enemies in this forum
and I want them all to know more about me.

My name is Heidi. Everything I wrote before were opposite of what
I really am. I am ugly, poor and sad. Desperate for attention, I
try to do everything so people would talk to and about me.

I've had divorced twice. I have two kids -- one eight and one
three years old.

I hope you can forgive me for annoying a lot of you. It was all
for the sake of attention, nothing else.

Peace and love to all of you.

Margo (a.k.a. Heidi S, the troll)
Margo (Heidi), if you're not just playing another game but actually state the truth, no hard feelings from me. You don't have to provoke people to get their attention. Most people in this forum are very friendly and helpful and will reply to anything you have to say. If nothing else, at least your previous posts spiced up the forum, although I think you can do this in other ways if you want nicer replies.

Regards, Maxven

Hi Gary.

I'm happy that you still visit the Oly forum. I'm a golfer myself although not that good yet, and I too have a weakness for classic movies. Especially the film noir's and the Orson Wells movies. I can certainly relate to your fascination of Joan Fontaine. I found your site about her very interesting.

Regards, Maxven
I agree, sometimes it's fun to read about the people posting
messages. I guess I'm not actually part of the Olympus family here
because I currently use a Canon instead, but I follow the threads
pretty closely over here and I've posted a handful of pictures here
in the past. Just for fun I made a website dedicated to a Classic
Hollywood actress and received some autographed photos from her
when she saw it. It was also fun to receive email about the site
from all over the world. Here is a link to a short page there with
a little information about me and a photo.

Hello, my name Richard Drury, I live in the Metro Atlanta area and work for a major U.S. Airline in their Flight Simulator Dept. I have been a flight simulator technician for over 18 years. I started in the Air Force with the A-10 simulator, then worked on Navy Submarine simulators, and now have been with my present company for 13 years in their Flight Simulator Dept. I currently do computer networking consulting as a side business, where I design and install computer networks for churches and non-profit orginizations. I have owned my UZi since May 2001 and have enjoyed every minute of it. This camera has allowed me to take a chance on taking a picture without the worry of wasting film (money). That has allowed me to be more creative in my photography.

Hi Mike.

Interesting reading. Regarding Heidi, if she's telling the truth this time, I think we should give her a break. :-)

My name is Gary Hughes as my login name states. I was born and raised in the state of Colorado where I still currently reside at the age of 24. I graduated from Colorado State University in December of 2000 with a degree in Computer Information Systems. Since then I've done part-time computer consulting (troubleshooting, design, networking, just about anything involving computers) for a living. I am also on the lung transplant list as I mentioned in another thread somewhere. :) I have Cystic Fibrosis which causes a degeneration of the lungs over time - so the need for a transplant. I was born with the disease, which is genetic, and never let it get the best of me. Instead, I try to do everything, and more, which "normal" people do, thus part of my reason for giving photography a whirl. :) I believe more people should know about others in this world - so "Thank you Juli for bringing this thread up" - it is very interesting to read what others have to say about themselves.

I purchased my C-2100 UZ in September 2001 and am currently missing it as it is in for warranty/repair work for a stuck pixel on the CCD. I look forward to learning a world about photography and I am excited to see where this venture will take me.

I think I've rambled on enough, but if you want to learn a plethora of extra information just follow the link at the bottom to my personal home page....

Hey Juli,

What a great idea! I've often wondered, too, so thanks!

I am a Location Scout/Manager for Feature Films, Commercials, Music Videos, etc. This means that when a movie (or any of the various productions mentioned) needs to shoot on location, they'll send me a script and ask if I know where their perfect world exists; I'll go out, shoot pics, submit them to Company; if they like what they see, they'll start sending folks for a personal look (Art Directors, Producers, Directors of Photography, etc). After settling on main locations, we look for more minor spots to round out the project, keeping the Production as simple as possible by having all sites preferably within an hour of each other so as not to make a big "Company Move".

For example, Frank Darabont, Director of THE GREEN MILE and THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION, originally planned on shooting only one location in Tennesseee, our old Prison (where Redford's new flick, THE LAST CASTLE was shot); he then planned to go to Louisiana, but we were able to find all locations in Tn, thereby avoiding state-to-state move.

In fact, I went digital several years ago for ease of email worldwide. Truly a Godsend for myself and all others in this profession.

Some of my Projects:

THE GREEN MILE
LAST DANCE
US MARSHALLS
GET ON THE BUS
DAYS OF THUNDER
and the series of NFL spots currently running Sundays now, among many others.

Anyway, hope this wasn't too long of a post, but there you have it. In fact, most of my posted pics at http://www.pbase.com/nashfilm/galleries were shot while Scouting for various projects; My Uzi never leaves my side!

Thanks to all of you fellow Uziers out there for all your help. Still working on Driver problems for my neighbor's brand new Uzi. Many thanks for your suggestions there.

take care--

I enjoyed your website. You have a very nice looking family. My mother's family spent many summers in Colorado Springs; I was lucky enough to go there one summer. God's country was what Mother called it.
I have bouts of asthma and brochitis usually brought on by allergies; I cannot begin to understand how severe your condition must be. I applaud your determination to have an active life. Bravo.

I am almost your neighbor. I live in Collierville, TN just east of Memphis. I am lucky enough to be enjoying my retirement after 38 years in the classroom, mostly teaching high school juniors.

You must know a lot of interesting people.

All of these messages and websites have been very interesting. Won't you also write a brief article about yourself that we can refer to in the future with some of this info? I mean when we click on your name as a poster. I'm sure I won't be able to remember all of this without referring to a cheat sheet. grin

Hi

I am a 20 year old from Lahore, Pakistan. I am an undergraduate student of Computer Science (software), fifth semester.

I spend so much time with computers, addicted to internet as an information resource, once I sit in front of my desktop I don't want to get off, whether I am searching for info on technology or working on an assignment....
