Hi folks and welcome to the 23rd Oly DSLR challenge.

Our theme this time is:

Music to My Eyes

Get a song in your head and then go express the title of that song (and think of the lyrics too) in your photography. Think of it as a photo shoot for a cover for the 45 record sleeve. ;o) (for those of you who don't know what those were just ask one of us oldies)

The placeholder shots are some simple shots of what I mean. Title your shots the title of the song and for fun post who recorded the song too (if you know). Let your creativity juices flow! You all never sieze to amaze me with your great photography!

Kodachrome(digital) ...
They give us those nice bright colors
They give us the greens of summers
Makes you think all the world's a sunny day, Oh yeah
I got an Oly camera
I love to take a photograph
So mama don't take my Kodachrome(digital) away

This challenge is scheduled to finish on Monday 13th of Feb. 2006, so as usual, you've got two whole weekends to get those pics shot, PPed and uploaded. The deadline is usually 9pm on the Monday (unless Pbase is having trouble with the uploading of the weekend shots), so lets all aim for that.

This is a busy forum with the release of the new E-330. It seems we are hearing the same thing over and over and many threads that could all be rolled into one but, this is just the excitement of the moment and it will die down soon enough, until the next new one comes in. So...you will have to all help me keep this from drifting off into oblivion. This time it wasn't on page one for even 30 minutes... so if you dont see it dig it out okay. ;o)

That was a great one and now I am listening to the song (only the Stones version) and it just is so fun to listen to the song and look that old Red Rooster right in the eye!

Sure I'd be glad too. In case it comes up again...all you do (while logged in to the pbase site) is click on your photo then up on the top it has "edit this image" and then you write a comment about the photo in the box for doing that, scroll down and hit update image and wah lah! all done... I have the lyrics so i will do it for ya. ;o)

I just wanted to say congratulations on your win in the last competition.

Critique always welcome

I cut all but the first verse. The image is not meant as an exact repesentation but more referential to the title. It just seemed to work better for me that way.

Thanks again

That works good for me too.

This is turning out as fun and great as I had imagined! Awesome photos that make you sing or at least hum along with them.

Aren't they great! That one MCsaba put in for California Dreamin', the one from Brent "Red Rooster" (if you dont know the original, which was sung by a blues singer from the deep south, then you can listen to the Rolling Stones version) and then how about Fred's Nutcracker Ballet! Oh and Turning Japanese (i have that as my one of my ringers in my cell phone) I don't think Adrian could have staged a photo for that song better then the one he posted.

I just hope ya'll are enjoying this even half as much as I am. I am very anxious to see what you can all come up with on purpose now! Hope you all have ideas stirring in your heads!

Thank you very much SueMc and I hope you are thinking of an entry for this challenge. It's more of a "use your creativity" challenge. So far the exhibition photos are just what I had in mind. Very creative with some chuckles and ewwws and awwws and in one case ouch!
