Got my H1

I finally got my H1 on Friday and took it up north to my sister’s place on the weekend. I took a few night shots with a 30 second shutter speed just fooling around and they look pretty cool, but too dark. I know they probably aren't too good but I'm still learning the controls. I have one question, I can change the shutter speed and aperture in the S and A modes using the black dial but how do I change them in full manual mode? All the black dial does is move the arrow between the aperture and shutter speed, how do I actually change them?

I was actually taking a picture of the road here and the silhouette of the barn was accidental, but it looks cool.

This one is too dark, but if you look at it in a dark room it looks pretty cool.

I took this one after seeing the effect in the first picture with the barn, but I moved it to also get the orange form the lights of the nearby town.

The link has to end with the name of the file, like DSC0123.jpg;
