D200 with NO banding, can you believe it

You're not looking hard enough. Increase the magnification. If it's a d200, there has to be banding.

Since I have one!

you're either being sarcastic or a complete moron.

probably the latter.

anyway, I have one too. I've done all the torture tests for banding. Zero banding. Only perfect photos.

Believe it or not, only a tiny percentage of d200's have banding. It's just that everyone who gets one gets on this forum to complain about it instead of sending it back.

go figure.

Awesome pics! Would you mind telling us a little bit about your technique and what you do for post processing? The dynamic rangs is amazing!

Very possibly both :- .

I was trying to respond to Cybertec in a humorous manner, consistent with the subject line in his original post. Apparently I was too subtle.

I received my d200 on December 16, and have failed miserably in my attempts to produce banding... but there's always hope ;-).

Fingers crossed for you! Remember, many (including reviewers like Bjorn who have been looking for it) have gone through hundreds, and literally even thousands of images before running into a case of banding...

...which kind of says, for the most part it's probably not as huge of a problem as you'd think it was reading this board.

realy nice shots... Is that the throgs neck bridge? or maybe the whitestone bridge, I love the last shot. I to have a d200 that does not band.I also have a 5d I'd say that they both offer beautiful shots but the d22 is a real camera, feels like one, sounds like one, just better made. More pro like.

Uhm, RoboJackson: Uncle Frank is NOBODYS moron.
I will accept his advice any day. Let's chalk it all up to a different word:

"hyperbole"

Nope, I don't believe it. However, I have a D200 and LOVE it. You will too. It is simply the best camera made at this price point as of yet. I love the last picture in your post. Please post the details.

Yes I can believe no banding. I see none in mine and have tried the torture tests to see it in extreme contrast and over-exposure. I have used in Canadian winter and now for a week in Mexico and really love the results. Your last pic is an award winner. You should submit it to a contest or Photo of the day!

Beautiful pictures Cybertec69 and Uncle Frank.

Cybertec69 - the lion picture - do you remember where in the picture you focused?

Same question to Uncle Frank - the very beautiful and colourful bird (parrot I guess) picture - where did you focus?

regarding PP, I use NC and nik Color Efx Pro 2.0 complete edition for NC, the last one is a pictures of a pier, I only added color solarization to it with Color Efex Pro, the others are as is with some slight contrast and sharpening done to them.
