Just got the 2400. I installed the software, loaded the ICC files, opened CS2 and was unable to print to the proper media. By that I mean that when I go into the printer setup and choose the paper type, only the standard ones are listed. If I reinstall the ICC then sometimes the premium papers are listed but only for a moment (seriously, cancel out of the image, come back and they are gone!)

What the heck? I've tried the driver that came on the disc and the one online. I've downloaded the ICC files twice and installed the one from Ilford as well. No luck no luck no luck.

Depending on the ICC profile loaded/associated, you will only have certain choices made available. Also, if you have a matte black cart loaded in your machine instead of photo black, you will not be shown any choices for glossy papers.

The ICC profile makes no difference to what paper you can see in the driver. The type of black ink does.

If you have the MK cart installed only the matte papers will show up. If you have PK installed all of them will show both matte and reflective (gloss/luster/etc). This has nothing to do with premium papers only the type of ink cart.

Coupe, I do not have the 2400, but am familiar with most of the Epson Printer Drivers.

There is no relationship between what .icc printer/paper profile you use and the paper settings in CS2.

What I have noticed, however, is that if you choose a paper like PGPP and set your dpi for a number that is low, say 360, that you cannot then choose PGPP settings (not positive, but think that happened to me once)

However, installing an .icc profile would not add or take away the ability to choose that paper in the printer driver. Additionally, you should be running the .icc profile out of CS2, rather than through the print driver where color management should be set to ICM/no color adjustment.

I bet you stuck in a different dpi which caused the ability to choose your particular paper to vanish.

I have also just bought the 2400 and face the same problem. I see all the ICC profiles I have downloaded when I choose PS to manage the color. But I only see the standard Epson papers when I let the printer do the color management. Is there another folder for printer managed color that the ICC needs to be copied to?

Are you using Windows or Mac OSx?

I forgor whre they're located in OSx, but this is the location wher you should store your ICC profiles in windows: C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\color

BUt many installations already put them there, like the ones you can downlaod from epson.com. Other papermanufacturers might have their ICC profiles available for download from their sit, so copy those to th elocation listed above, install the right ink, PK or MK and have fun.

Thx. I am using WinXP. They are already in the Colors folder and all show up under "let PS color manage". But not under printer ("let printer manage").
