What is the Difference between the 580ex & the SL-580ex It appears that the SL-580ex, sells for about $80.00 More than the 580ex.
I can't find anything on Canon's Website.

Thanks

Maybe I am all jacked Up, perhaps the SL, simply means Speed-Lite, & there is no other Version. If this is the Case, Please accept my Apologies.

I talked to a Canon rep on the phone and she said that they make only one verison of their flash (580EX). I wonder why some online stores have two versions with different prices. If you go to newegg.com and search for 580EX you'll see these two versions. 580EX selling for $380.99 and the SL-580EX for $415.95!

I checked the new egg site. The model numbers are the same but the warranty terms are different so I'd suspect the cheaper one is gray market (no US warranty) and the more expensive one has a US warranty.

Retailers like B&H also sell "imported" (i.e., no US warranty) and US models, but the distinction is made more clearly.
