UZI forum

Being a UZI owner myself,
I'm not implying that we eliminate all the UZI owners from the Oly forum.

I'm simply saying, given the flood of threads from new ($399) UZI owners, it would be nice if there was a UZI user forum. I'm not sure I wouldn't visit there much, but yes it would make it easier for some people to get their UZI questions answered.

Its not too much of a bother, seeing the threads here, I'm just bringing up the fact that this is a busy forum and if half of the UZI posts were moved to a UZI forum, it would lighten up.

I basically have read from people complaining about "all us UZI owners" overrunning the forum and felt that if the majority of UZI-only-related threads were on a UZI forum, the UZI owners would be looked at as juat another photographer on the Oly forum... not as "one of them"

Is it just me, or has there been a recent flood of UZI comments,
remarks and questions. The whole $399 thing makes me feel like
there should be a "new UZI owner" forum.
I'm a UZI owner, and I realize that these new owners are using the
same equipment I'm using, but I've never sifted through so many
questions that offer no insight or info to anyone but a new UZI
owner.

I love the UZI, but I read forums for the photo tips and info more
than tips on the UZI.

Am I alone here?
I know there's gotta be some other Oly owners that wish there were
less threads that mentioned "new UZI" or "$399".
I think not, meaning you, that the uzi owners really like discussing
cameras and other issues because they have formed a sort of bond
to a large degree it really does not have any thing to do with the
camera it
self, it just started out that way. They won't leave anyone out.
You just have to be able to hang because UZI is a club not a
camera. Most of the
tips and or solutions aply to most any camera to a degree.i

Muhahah - resistance is futule, prepare to be assimilated.
We are the UZI-Borg!
Is it just me, or has there been a recent flood of UZI comments,
remarks and questions.

You mean this NOT the Uzi forum?? NOW you tell me! (Just kidding). There's room here for everyone. I also belong to the 3000/3030 and the 2100 Yahoo group and let me tell you about a situation that happened on the Uzi Yahoo group there. A number of people were posting about a software called "Buzz". Kinda like a artsy filter program that turns photos into painting looking work. Well a number of members starting complaining that it was turning into a Buzz group. (Clicks within a click!)

Well the best answer I heard to this so called problem is if you don't like a post, don't read it! No one was forcing anyone to read all these Buzz posts and no one here is forcing anyone to read the Uzi posts. It's that simple. People with other non Uzi Olympus cameras should post more of there cameras photos, questions and concerns. The Uzi is obviously a very popular camera with a unique set of features (10x, IS, ELV...) and the current pricing helps it's popularity.

I usually skim the subject line and if I see something I'm interested I'll read it. If not I pass and move on.

Happy shooting,
Bob - C2100/C3000

Actually I think most of your post could be said about any camera
with the exception of the quantity of posts.

But just to stir the pot a little, I will dissagree about the need
for another forum. Although posts like "my first uzi shots" or
"(name of a scene)2100" are quite annoying, I have learned quite a
bit from the uzi posters. Not all of their threads apply to my
camera, but it is food for thought. I bet the same can be said
from most of the uzi owners. I think they can learn a lot from
reading non uzi owner posts.
I agree, Brian. I have learned a lot from the other UZi owners on this forum, but the one website where I have REALLY learned the most is not primarily an UZi site but an Oly 20X0 site: Digital Photography FWIW. The fact that the site attempts to translate and extrapolate its data and findings to the 2100 and 30X0 Olys and even other digicams in general is the message that we should listen to for this forum.

FWIW, Oly Talk should be about Oly cams not just the UZi. And I think that we all gain more by listening to each other than forming a separate forum.

To me, this forum is basicly already a pure Uzi forum. Every time I come to this forum and scan at the first page, 9 out of 10 posts are about Uzi. Don't take me wrong, I'm a owner of C2100 and C3030 and I love the Uzi. I just missed the time when this forum was dictated by Uzi owners, it was a friendly community for all c2100, c30x0, and c20x0 owners to learn and share tips. If you've been here long enough you probably noticed that many veteran users such as Barry, Jan in Ca , Debbie. and so on.... those guy were here for a long time and suddendly a lot of them disappeared.

I'm going back to sleep
