I have been away for a few days break to our normal summer holiday destination Vincentia, 2 hours south of Sydney. Here's a few pics of some of the sights.
Part of the beach near where we stayed:
*ist D + DA14, f16, 1/200sec, ISO200

Couldn't make up my mind as to which of these two I liked best:
*ist D + FA*80-200 f2.8 @200mm, f5.6, 1/500sec, ISO400 Handheld

Or this view:
*ist D + FA*80-200 f2.8 @95mm, f5.6, 1/500sec, ISO400 Handheld

Another strange Australian native flower:
*ist D + DFA100 macro f2.8, f8, 1/50sec, ISO400 Handheld

Lighthouse near where we stayed:
*ist D + DA14, f13, 1/13sec, ISO200, monopod.
The blurryness of some of the foreground foliage is due to windy conditions.

Very nice, Lance! The first shot looks a little like one of yours taken in Sidney, with the Opera House in the background. The last one is my favourite, great composition! I like the first one of the cows a lot. The second one, i don't know, the colors seem a little different, the white cow is kinda weird, at least in my monitor.
Thanks for posting! :)

Thanks Marcos! :-)

I think I am also leaning towards liking the first cow pic too. The second pic cow pic looks ok on my monitor as far as colour is concerned.

With the last pic, I had to look around for a while before I found a decent composition of the lighthouse. I found the water reflection and the foreground shrubs and I thought it would make a good setting. It is not easy to make a lighthouse look interesting.

LOL. I'll get there, give me time. :-)

Thanks Jan. I worked hard to get the composition right and also to wait until the wind stopped enough to take a reasonable pic.

Your first gorgeous shot reminds me of how much I need a time away. I have friends (lucky buggers) in both Vincentia and Mollymook further south. I'll call them tomorrow and beg them to take me in for a week or two and blame you of course :)

Cheers,

Guy

Nice work Lance.

Tha DA14 is nice.

The second cow shot for mine. Better composition, their legs provide good lines. But yes a more shallow depth on the first might have been good to bring out the black cow more. Cows are great for photos though aren't they? They always look at you.

Good detail on the native too.

Looks like you had a great time. I'm busting to get away for a few days this week, just gotta decide where!

Cheers

Ok, tell me your secret. I've had enough of this. I loved your Sydney Opera house shot, and now you've possibly bettered it!!

That first shot is stunning. Seriously, I know it's a good lens, but it's not that good - tell me what you do!?! Lot's of PP? "Magic Harry Potter" Filters!?!
Ha, yeah, I like!

Man Lance, it must really be rough to suffer with all that crummy Pentax equipment. I can see how it's really holding back the quality of your work. What a shame. Please, do your self a favor and box it all up and send it to me. I just can't bare to see you suffer any longer....guffaw!

Sorry, couldn't keep a straight face much longer with that sillyness. Absolutely stunning images. I like the sharpness, and the extended tonality of the water in the first shot. Lot's of subtle shades of blue to blue-green water. Just wonderful.

Tripod used a lot here, yes?

Those are some wonderful shots, Lance. Especially the first one, composition, sharpness, color, exposure ..., just like a perfect shot. The others are quite nice too, but they are not on the same league as the first one in my eyes.

Seems you'd a nice break there. Cheers :)

Lance,

Your first cow shot is a keeper I think ....

All your shots are very nice and I love the colors, those Pentax lenses are something else arn't they ?

I see you like your 14mm !!! I'm going out today with my 12-24mm to see if I can grab anything.

wll

Welcome back- I've also been away a week but on business, with no camera :-( Have to catch up this w/e

Lovely pics- I particularly like no.1, and the cow shots, which both work for me, possibly a slight preference for the second

All are very nice. I like that first one best. You can really swallow up the landscape with that 14mm. Great colors and textures. Of the cows, I prefer the first for some reason. Nice job.
