Nikon View won't run

My Nikon View program won't run. I have tried everything. Uninstalled and reinstalled. It flashes the menu for a second at the top of the screen and just goes away. It runs on my laptop on Win 98. But quit running on my desktop after I upgraded to Win XP. Any thoughts?

Rt Click on the 'my computer' icon > properties> advanced> performance> settings then find the data execution program tab.

Go to 'turn on DEP except for those programs I select' click 'add' and navigate to the Nikon View exe.
If you install Nikon Capture do the same thing with it too.
That has been know to fix it.
