At the risk of sounding over enthusiastic I had the first chance to play with my new FZ20 this morning and took some shots of dried plants to enter into a "shapes" challenge. Sadly, I got the dates wrong but just felt like sharing a couple of them anyhow.

Love this camera!

What was the nature of the challenge?

Ann
It was on DPChallenge and was just called Shapes. I was trying to suggest abstract shapes in nature that was being imitated by man and then by me. It was good experience none the less.

You might try the same kind of shot with and without flash. In your photos, it's clear that you used the flash, as the object shadows fall behind the shapes. Without those shadows, your shapes might be more accentuated? Just a thought. Thanks for posting, glad you're enjoying your FZ20!

I tried one or two without flash but they were quite dull and I would have needed to set up the shot very differently - and I was in a rush.

I do appreciate your comment though as I had not thought about the shadow influence that much.

Sadly, I have no idea what the plants are - but I bet my wife knows! I will have to ask her - and thanks for the comments.
